Desert Mountain & Our HOA
In 1986, legendary luxury golf community developer Lyle Anderson teamed up with Frank Lloyd Wright’s Taliesin Associated Architects to develop 8,300 acres into what is now one of the nation’s most prestigious master-planned communities. The Desert Mountain Homeowners Association was created to oversee the security, architectural integrity, and the critical infrastructure of the majestic community we know today.
All property owners are members of the HOA, whether or not they are members of the Desert Mountain Club.
The Property
Surrounded by Remarkable Beauty
Nothing compares to the singular experience of living the luxury community lifestyle amidst Desert Mountain’s breathtaking vistas. To ensure each home blends with the high Sonoran Desert, Taliesin and Anderson created building envelopes that preserved at least half of each lot for native desert. Our expansive property is now one with the landscape, integrating its homes, golf courses, clubhouses, trails, and village neighborhoods with dramatic mountain peaks, vast desert panoramas, vibrant wild flora, and gentle, rolling hills.

Neighborhoods
of Distinction
Due to the size of the development, Taliesin created a village concept to provide better security and promote neighborhood identity. Characterized by their unique styles and gate designs, Desert Mountain’s thirty-two villages are individually represented by a volunteer resident on the Council of Presidents. Each of these neighborhoods functions under the HOA, and many are governed by their own rules, bylaws, and architectural review guidelines.

The Board of Directors and several committees chaired by members of the Board preside over the HOA and collaborate during regular public meetings to make strategic decisions for the community. The Board of Directors oversees CCMC, a national master-planned community management firm which maintains an on-site office staffed with experienced professionals. CCMC assists the HOA in complying with the many state and local regulations governing our community while adhering to its core values of integrity, respect, service, and community.
